John 14:14-15 KJV [14] If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. [15] If ye love me, keep my commandments. 

Prayer will rival scriptures and string us closer to God.

God has obligated himself to prayer, because people pray to him he answers their prayer. Prayer puts God to work. Prayer causes God to work. We need to revolutionize our prayers. Prayer puts God to work. You and I possess the amazing power to move God.

Man is the only thing that prays. (Animals don’t pray). So when we pray, we put God to work on earth. Prayerless rules God out of his work on earth. To say that God works through prayer, and then have no prayer life, excludes God from mans life. 

It’s no wonder all the problems that man has when they don’t include God in there life. We don’t believe what we say, we believe our actions. What we do, is what speaks. Our actions. You can counteract in prayer, what the enemy is trying to do in your life. 

If you will find Gods purpose, things in your life will begin to make sense. That emptiness feeling, that spirit of depression that’s so strong that causes people to do harmful things to themselves, maybe even to the point it would cause them to contemplate suicide, will go away when God is directing every one of your steps with purpose. Don’t talk about faith if you don’t have a prayer life.

As children we sing the song Jesus loves me this I know for the Bible tells me so. Well of course He loves me, and I know the Bible tells me so. But can you say that Jesus loves me, yes I know, because He answers my prayers. I have a relationship with him, and because of my relationship with him, I know He loves me. Not just because the Bible tells me so.

It will be really hard to make sense of your life and some of the hardships you’re faced with, if you’re not connected to God, if you don’t have a relationship with him and you find yourself in a place that you need him, because of your prayerlessness you will fill that sense of God not being obligated to answer your prayers.

He’s there for you, even in your guilt, for not being where you should be in regards to you’re relationship with Him. He’s a true friend. He is a God that answers prayer. He listens. He wants to give you purpose for every step.

There are many things that differentiates us from the world. But prayer should really cause us to stand out, right? Because our God really answers prayer. Ask the old prophets Elijah if prayer should cause us to stand out. It made him confident enough not to back down from the prophets of Baal. Our God can answer by fire. He could answer by a lot of things… but answering by FIRE, that’s making a statement, you think?

Here at the beginning of the year, don’t let prayer be something extra you do in January, let it be a way of life. That way of life, will change your life for the better. Let prayer be the differentiating factor in your life. We serve a God that answers prayer, and he knows our thoughts and intentions behind our prayers. We need to have purpose for every step we take in 2016.

If our prayers are not answered according to our will, we need to check our intentions and motives, is it drawing us closer to God? I want my will to be His will. So if my prayers are not answered, I trust him. He knows whats best for me. And I never want to settle for anything less than what God has for me. He orders my steps, so every step I take has purpose.

We have all of these Story’s in the Bible about how God has answered prayer, and we tell them, and we teach these story’s over and over. What story’s do you have of your own about how God answered your prayers. Do you have any? Have you ever needed God to answer your prayers?

Matthew 21:22 KJV [22] And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

Do you have doubt? Have you placed your trust in yourself instead of Him. Are you so confident in all of the support you have in your life that your prayer life is barely existent or non existent? For some, this rings a little truth and you know it in your heart of hearts. Have I ever been desperate for God to answer my prayers?

When the storm comes and crushes everything  that we have put our trust in, we will find our self seeking shelter in something, and that thing should be prayer, after all it’s how we communicate with God. When you feel like there is nothing left, no where else to go, or no one to turn to… He is what’s left. He is the God of whats left. We need to have our hearts pointed toward him. If God before us, prayer.

My guess would be that you struggle with something. And you have not given much of your struggle time and focus in prayer. You just deal with it. Avoid it. Act like it’s not there. If we could power point a transcript of our recent prayers what would the transcripts reveal. What have our prayers been this last week?

If some of us were really honest we would admit that God has brought us out of some pretty ridiculous situations. And if we had just spent some time in prayer, We wouldn’t be praying the prayer of deliverance, but the prayer of gratitude for being in His will, and Him guiding us in the right direction, having purpose for every step we take because we are submitted to His will and we are in the ark of safety. No prayer in your life? You’re walking so dangerously. 

Proverbs 15:29 KJV [29] The Lord is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.

Some are so distracted. Their time, energy and focus is so consumed there is no room for time in prayer. They make decisions with out prayer first. Relationship decisions, finical, job opportunities, Marriage decisions, What have you brought before Him in prayer lately?

There are major things going on in your life and these things have not been introduced to what should be a dominating supernatural force in your life, prayer.

If you will spend some time in prayer, you will begin to love what Jesus loves. I think we need to be forcefully reminded that there is a storm tossed world that needs refuge, and where will they run to but unto Him. He loves them, and He wants to be their strong tower in which they can run to and find shelter. 

We need to have purpose for every step we take.

Psalm 5:3 KJV [3] My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord ; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

Your prayers will draw you closer to His heart and you will begin to fill the compassion that He has for this world. You will lose your desires for all of these materialistic things that have you distracted, and God will flood your thoughts and captivate your mind and attention on what’s important.

Souls. We need to pray for, and pursue lost souls, lost family, lost friends, parents, brothers, sisters, teachers, aunts, uncles, cousins, PRAYER.

Facebook will not be our greatest witness. That’s true huh? Twitter will not be our greatest witness, Instagram, a telegram (ha). All of these things are great mediums, but they cant take the place of relationship. Our greatest witness to this world will be the GREAT love that we show toward one another! (Jesus shared this with his disciples)

Please tell me how we can do this without prayer? Prayer, I have got to have a strong prayer life. How are we going to have purpose for every step without prayer.   

I HAVE to FIND a LOVE for PRAYER. The world has to know our love and compassion. I don’t think we have done the best job in this area. I do know what can fix this, PRAYER, and having a purpose for every step.

The most important lesson that we could learn is, we can do more than pray, but we can’t do anything until we’ve prayed. We have to spend time in our Bible. How can you pull things off in this time, in this culture, without spending time with God.

Psalm 5:3 KJV [3] My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord ; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

There is something so different when you have taken this time to draw closer to him. You can’t lie to yourself, things are honest when you are alone with God. He knows. You have to be real when you are with Him.

Have you ever met people that are SO FAKE? Have you ever stopped and thought to yourself there is no way they have been spending time in the presence of God because they’re not REAL. They’re so FAKE.

They’re lying to their self, and to God. You can’t be fake in his presence, He knows who you are, what’s on your mind, what’s in your heart. I honestly don’t know how people make it that don’t spend time with God.

You become so self centered when you don’t spend time with God. Imagine what you would feel, if you knew that your time was coming to an end? The things you would do if you knew that you had weeks, or months to live. I guarantee you that you would be spending some time with God because you are getting ready to meet Him.

Your priorities would rapidly change if you were told you had a short time to live. You would begin to make sure that things were centered around God, because this is it, what else is there to do? I think it would be a great suggestion to Interrupt HELLS plan for your life today! Prayer, having purpose for every step.

Psalm 66:20 KJV [20] Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me. 

It’s time to start asking, what have I done with my life? And start letting go of the things that have held you back from what God has called you to do. Start trusting in him, and make sure that everything about your life revolves around him.

And that every step you take is on PURPOSE. YOU’RE NOT STUMBLING INTO STUFF THAT YOU HAVE NO BUSINESS BEING IN, BECAUSE EVERY STEP YOU TAKE IS ON PURPOSE. PRAYER.

I understand people not wanting to go to Hell, But what I don’t understand is the way that some people live and treat others, and how they provoke drama, it would really make me believe they sure don’t want to go to Heaven. Do you really want to go?  

If you want to go to Heaven how are you going to take these PEOPLE with you? That you BASH and make fun of!? How are you going to WIN this world with all of your SOCIAL MEDIA DRAMA!!! Promoting all the upside downs you can broadcast. Negativity. 

If I didn’t know anything about the Bible, about Jesus, Heaven, Hell, and I saw a bunch of drama in my news feed of people who do know about these things. That call them selves Christians, Apostolic’s, Pentecostals, Jesus name, Born again? Some are dropping their calling to win this world in a big way.

Have you ever seen a busted play in a football game? It looks like the players are so confused? (Alabama vs. Clemson for National Championship) I could imagine that’s what we look like to God! Confused.

Forgot our mission, our purpose for every step, dropped the ball. We need to make every effort to pursue after truth and show brotherly love, show self control instead of self destruction. 

Prayer, I respectfully challenge us to become a people that know how to pray.

Acts 6:4 KJV [4] But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
